Our Story

Social Work Evolved Inc. is a counselling and rehabilitation organization that provides support to individuals and families. You can choose from family therapy, online therapy and individual. We offer individual services such as: anxiety, depression, mental health, anger management, addiction treatment, individual psycho therapy, case management, chronic pain, post motor vehicle rehabilitation, and fertility counselling.

Our goal at Social Work Evolved is to provide our clients with top notch dedication, support and confidentiality. We want to make you feel comfortable in sharing your stressors in a safe, warm environment.

Social Work Evolved is a group of professional, passionate, caring counsellors, therapists and Registered Social Workers.

Our Mission & Vision

Angie Gill: Practice Director, MSW RSW

Angie Gill is a Registered Social Worker (both in Ontario and in British Columbia) with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor, and a Bachelor of Social Work degree (with a Child Welfare specialization) from the University of Victoria. Angie Gill is the Practice Director of Social Work Evolved Inc.  She brings more than 15 years of Social Work experience in various clinical settings. Angie has specialized in case management in neuro-rehabilitation services working with individuals suffering from brain injury, spinal cord injuries, and PTSD. 

Angie has extensive experience as a clinical social worker, focusing on issues such as mental health, addictions, couples counselling, domestic violence and grief/bereavement. Angie advocates for a strong commitment to client centered practice to ensure that individuals and families have the support, tools, education and appropriate resources. Angie also speaks fluent: Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi languages which are a tremendous asset in working with the South Asian client population.

Drawing from cognitive-behavioral, narrative, mindfulness and solution-focused approaches, Angie seeks to draw on each individual’s strengths to promote client empowerment, self-advocacy and improved quality of life.

Showaita Manchanda, MSW RSW

Showaita is a a Masters level Social Worker consultant, and a graduate of York University in Toronto,Ontario.  She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. For over 7 years Showaita has worked under the Ministry of Children and Youth Services assisting families in areas related to child physical and sexual abuse. She has also worked in various community settings allowing her to work with individuals and families with a variety of social, emotional and financial needs.  Showaita has experience providing assessment and treatment services for individuals who have sustained injuries due to motor vehicle accidents using various social work modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Grief Counselling. The main focus of Showaita’s work with clients is to educate, assess and counsel them in order to address their current psychosocial and emotional needs related to their motor vehicle collision experience. Showaita is also fluent in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu languages. 

Johanna Jackson, MSW RSW

 

Johanna is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. She belongs to both the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Canadian Association of Social Workers.  She brings several years of social work experience, working with various populations in a variety of clinical settings including community work, hospital and corrections. Through her work with the Canadian Mental Health Association, Johanna has gained extensive experience in case management, assessment, and intervention, addressing a multitude of presenting issues including mental health, substance use, domestic violence, and relationship issues. 

Drawing from various modalities including CBT, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Johanna is able to tailor her approach to fit the clients’ needs and meet them where they are at. She recognizes the value of a strong client-worker relationship and strives to make clients feel comfortable and supported during their time working together.

Anjana Jadav

Anjana Jadav is a registered Social Worker with the College of Social workers and Social Service Workers and graduated from York University with her Master’s Degree in Social Work in 2002.  Anjana has been practicing as a social worker for close to 18 years, with much of her experience based within the healthcare setting but also previously with community-based organizations.  Anjana is a skilled and compassionate social worker with extensive knowledge in family psycho-social assessments, case management, advocacy for clients and families, having hospice and end-of-life discussions where needed.  Through her many years of practising social work, Anjana has a broad range of counselling experience which is both holistic and strengths based, allowing for an environment of respect and understanding through her various therapy approaches (crisis intervention, supportive counselling and advocacy).  Anjana is committed and dedicated to empowerment focused social work by creating safe, positive and caring environments for her clients.   In addition, Anjana is well versed and able to provide counselling in the South Asian languages of, Hindi, Gujarati and with some knowledge and ability also in Punjabi and Urdu.

Suela Saraci

Suela Saraci is a Registered Social Service Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service workers. She graduated with a diploma in Assaulted Women and Children Counselor Advocacy and a certificate in Dual Diagnosis from George Brown College, where she received her Social Service Work diploma as well. She has also received her certificate with honors in Developmental Service Work at Humber College.

Suela offers more than 5 years of experience as Social Service Worker catering to people with Dual Diagnosis by demonstrating an empathetic working relationship, helping to develop, implement, and evaluate personal support plans to enhance their overall life skills and quality of life. She has experience in assisting clients by identifying their needs for specialized services through consultations, as well as arranging appointments according to the client’s needs. She helps identify their work, social, and life skills, as well as helping them seek employment. Suela additionally has experience with providing support to newcomers, assisting them with integrating into their local communities by providing them with the necessary resources. Suela is fluent in Albanian, and has a fundamental understanding of Italian.

Aida Bozha, MSW RSW

 

Aida is a Registered Social Worker with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has completed her Master of Social Work degree at  University of Gothenburg in Sweden on 2004. Aida has practiced as a Social Worker for over 18 years providing psycho-social support and case management to the extremely vulnerable individuals and families from marginalized communities (elderly, children and youth at-risk, physically and mentally disabled, women). She has also provided protection, integration and empowerment services to refugees with PTSD as well as advocated on behalf of her clients.  Aida utilizes advance counselling skills, motivational interviewing techniques and a brief solution focused approach. She has been working for over 11 years as a Care Coordinator/Case Manager with Central LHIN providing support to adults/seniors with chronic, complex health condition (such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, multiple co-morbidity, strokes, motor vehicle accident clients, palliative patients).  Aida is well versed in conducting RAI-HC assessments; capacity assessments (for long term care and treatment decisions), designing, coordinating and implementing care plans that reflect the care needs of patients.  She has immense experience in providing home and community care/rehabilitation services; working closely with hospitals, service providers, primary care, patients, family members and community agencies. Aida’s second language, Albanian is also a great asset to her skill set.
